Announcing $2.7 million in grants

At their first board meeting of the year, Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation trustees in March approved $2.7 million in 60 grants to New Jersey nonprofit organizations for work in the arts, education, environment, and informed communities.

The grants include 33 grants totaling $981,000 in Arts, one totaling $309,500 in Education, 21 totaling $1,345,000 in Environment, and five totaling $82,500 in other areas of focus.

  • American Repertory Ballet (New Brunswick, Middlesex County): $10,000 general operating support to present classical and contemporary ballet and educational outreach programs in New Jersey. (Program Area: Arts)
  • Arts for Kids Inc. (West Orange, Essex County): $2,500 to support Dance Therapy, a day-long, tap dance festival in Newark, curated by Newark tap dancer Maurice Chestnut, including workshops for all ages and abilities, and a culminating, public performance featuring local, national and international tap dancers (Program Area: Arts)
