Lead New Jersey will increase its stature and relevance. We will: • conduct our 28th class of Fellows and engage our network of graduate Fellows. • explore policy issues through a series of NJ Spotlight columns on topical public choices. • partner with policy colleagues at the Bloustein School at Rutgers University on developing seminars and public events, for our Fellows. • seek out collaborative opportunities with other statewide groups to develop public policy dialog.
LeadNJ brings program participants -- our Fellows -- together two days a month for a year to explore critical issues and address challenges and opportunities facing New Jersey. Fellows who share the experience of our Seminar program over the last two and a half decades have created a vibrant network of civic leaders engaged in systemic change. This network is an important asset for many initiatives that aim to make New Jersey a better place in which to live and work.
Our President, Mark M. Murphy, leads a dedicated and experienced program staff. A graduate of Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School, on whose advisory committee he has served, Mark brings over twenty-five years of experience gained in the U.S. Senate and state government, and by developing public policy. His diverse public service to the State includes appointments as chief of staff to the Legislative Redistricting Commission's Public Member, and as chair of the New Jersey Office of Dispute Resolution. He is a past president of the State's most influential public policy foundation, The Fund for New Jersey, and has taught at both Princeton and Rutgers Universities. He is currently a Senior Policy Fellow at Rutgers University's Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
