NJCSA is the voice, policy leader and support services expert for New Jersey's charter school sector. NJCSA was formed in 1999 and today is charged with advancing a quality public education for New Jersey's children through high-performing public charter schools. Its vision is that every child in the State of New Jersey has the opportunity to attend a high-performing public school that best meets his or her needs. Today, New Jersey is home to 87 charter schools, serving 33,500 children, the majority of which are located in urban communities with under-performing school districts.
