The New Jersey Performing Arts Center, by celebrating diversity, aspires to be America's foremost urban presenter of arts and entertainment, a creative and effective leader in arts education for children, a convener of useful and enlightening civic engagement events, and a key driver of economic development in its home city of Newark.
Now in its 18th Season, NJPAC is the State's anchor cultural institution and the nation's 4th largest provider of arts education. Since opening in 1997, nearly 9 million patrons have experienced performances at NJPAC. Our world-class venues include the grand Prudential Hall (2,840 seats), the intimate Victoria Theater (514 seats), the cabaret-style Chase Room (225 seats), the versatile Black Box Theater (70 seats) and the three-acre outdoor Theater Square, as well as several private event spaces.
NJPAC is dedicated to being New Jersey's Arts Center, serving patrons from all 21 counties throughout the State each year with a concentration on the 25-mile radius of the Center. The Arts Center's ticket buyers by county of residence follows: Essex 23%, Union 9%, Bergen 9%, Morris 6%, Middlesex 6%, Passaic 5%, Hudson 11.5%, Monmouth 4%, Somerset 3%, and all other NJ counties make up 8%. In addition, New York City and State residents make up 10% of ticket buyers, 2% are from Pennsylvania, and 3.5% are Other.
