Organization Background

The mission of Cooper's Ferry Partnership (CFP) is to facilitate the revival of the City of Camden as an urban hub, where people choose to live, work, and invest. Since 1984, CFP has been working to achieve this goal, by developing visionary long-range plans for the redevelopment of Camden and working with private sector, government, and community partners to implement these plans from vision to reality. Our community-led initiatives incorporate planning, environmental policy, physical improvements, and placemaking investments in order to cultivate pathways of economic and social opportunity for Camden residents.

As a citywide economic and community development corporation, with decades of experience, CFP seeks to enhance the economic and environmental health of the city by:

- Strengthening Camden's connections to its physical assets including its waterways, regional rail and road network, and proximity to Center City Philadelphia;

- Leveraging public investment into parks and infrastructure in order to improve quality of life, to create recreational opportunities, and to attract private reinvestment;

- Cultivating vibrancy and a strong sense of place in Camden's public realm through physical upgrades and programming.

CFP works closely with the Mayor Dana L. Redd and the City of Camden on the sustainability action plan for Camden. Under the umbrella of the Camden Collaborative Initiative, CFP coordinates a one-of-a-kind coalition for environmental change in an urban environment. The Neighborhood Initiatives division at CFP executes these activities. Key project personnel include the following:

Anthony Perno III, Esq., Chief Executive Officer, assisted in expanding the mission of CFP from a single purpose mixed-use development company focused on the downtown waterfront into a city-wide economic and community development corporation.

Meishka L. Mitchell, Vice President of Neighborhood Initiatives, utilizing her experience as a life-long Camden resident, has played a key role in broadening CFP's mission to assist in the implementation of resident-driven plans in Camden's neighborhoods.

Sarah Bryant, Senior Project Manager, Sarah plays a key role in the implementation of the Camden SMART Initiative, serving as primary organizer of the SMART Team and Camden Green Team.

Caroline Gray, Project Manager, provides primary coordination and oversight for the Camden Collaborative Initiative.
