Artworks is Trenton, New Jersey's visual art center. Artworks was incorporated in 1964, and first moved from Princeton to Trenton in 1988, into a city-owned renovated former warehouse building which remains its headquarters to this day. Today, Artworks is a healthy arts organization with a broad range of programming, not just at our headquarters, but out in communities. With multiple partners across disciplines, our programming reflects the diversity of the city and directly improves the lives of its residents. Artworks mounts a year-round calendar of exhibits in its main and community galleries, featuring artists from across the state and the nation, as well as down the street. No Artworks event is more diverse, or popular, in the city than Art All Night, held at the historic Roebling Wire Works in Trenton. The core purpose of Art All Night remains the same as when it was founded in 2007, to offer people of all ages, cultures and walks of life, the opportunity to exhibit one piece of art of their own choosing, for free, alongside the creations of their fellow citizens. The event is free to attend too, attracting people from all of Trenton?s neighborhoods and communities, as well as from surrounding communities. In 2012 Artworks founded Art All Day to showcase all the art and creative activity happening throughout the city. Studios, pop-up galleries, creative businesses and non-profits open their doors to the public on Art All Day. Partnerships have been invaluable to Artworks in offering free youth and teen art education programming in local Trenton schools and community centers. In 2017, Artworks expanded its own free youth and teen art summer classes to take place throughout the year, renaming the program our free Youth & Teen Art League. Artworks continues to grow our adult education classes with a mix of traditional and non-traditional offerings, as well as support working artists with professional development programs.
