Jersey Give Back Guide: Morris Arts

December 17, 2015

From Thanksgiving to New Year’s, we are highlighting each of the organizations featured in the Jersey Give-Back Guide, an online giving gadget that takes the guesswork out of year-end giving.

Morris Arts

formerly Arts Council of the Morris Area

What they do:

Morris Arts makes the community a better place to live, work and play through the arts. They create arts education programs for schools, create and support arts events in the community, support local artists and arts organizations and champion the support and funding of the arts.

Communities served:

Morris County and 11 other counties in Northern New Jersey

What makes them great:

Morris Arts is one of the premier organizations championing Arts In Education, responsible for 50 artist residencies that engage over 9,000 students with in-depth interdisciplinary programs with professional teaching artists. They host an annual Arts Education Showcase attended by school representatives from more than 50 schools.

Morris Arts also produces great community events like Pumpkin Illumination, Meet Me in Morristown, the long running Giralda Music & Arts Festival and the summer concert series Music Beyond Borders. Morris Arts also gives artists a place to showcase their works, exhibiting over 1,000 works of art by nearly 400 New Jersey artists.

How your donation will help:

Your donation will keep the momentum going with these great community building events, supporting the arts in schools and artists and arts organizations.

How you can get even more involved:

Morris Arts needs volunteers at events like the Giralda Music & Arts Festival in June and Great Conversations.
