Camilo Mendez serves as Chief Financial Officer of the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, overseeing finance, operations, and mission-aligned investment strategy. He also leads the Foundation’s Programmatic Investments initiative, aligning capital deployment with the Dodge Foundation’s equity goals.
Camilo brings more than 20 years of experience in finance and impact investing across the public, private, and social sectors. Prior to the Dodge Foundation, he was CFO of Pro Mujer, an international women’s development organization operating across Latin America. He has also held senior roles at BlueOrchard Finance and Oikocredit, managing impact investment portfolios focused on financial inclusion and economic opportunity.
Camilo holds a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies and History from Oberlin College. Camilo was born in Argentina but grew up in the United States after his family was exiled by Argentina’s military dictatorship when he was a child. He lived abroad for 10 years in Switzerland and Peru, and his global perspective informs his commitment to inclusive and community-centered economic development. He currently serves on the board of Pro Mujer.
