As Program Director, Housing, Malcolm McClain oversees the Dodge Foundation’s housing portfolio, supporting organizations that expand access to safe, affordable housing and homeownership as a pathway to closing the racial wealth gap in New Jersey.
Before joining the Dodge Foundation, Malcolm served as Director of Urban Agriculture and Food Initiatives at the Greater Newark Conservancy, where he led community-based programs at the intersection of environmental, food, and racial justice. His work focused on community engagement, urban agriculture, and equitable food access, including securing public and private funding to develop new farmers’ markets and strengthen local food systems.
Malcolm holds degrees in sociology from Lehigh University and Muhlenberg College. He is a proud fourth-generation Newark resident and currently lives in the city’s West Ward.
