For immediate release: September 4, 2018
MORRISTOWN — Cynthia Evans has been named as the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation’s interim president and CEO by its Board of Trustees.
Evans, the Foundation’s chief financial officer and a staff member for more than 20 years, has the knowledge and expertise to guide the organization during this transition, said Preston Pinkett III, board chair.
"She brings a deep understanding of the Foundation’s legacy and a passion for its work," Pinkett said. "We are excited that she is willing to take on this dual role as we search for a new leader."
Evans' immediate priorities as interim president and CEO are to keep grantmaking and day-to-day operations moving forward, continue to build trust and improve communications with our partners, and start putting into action our new strategic plan, which focuses on an equitable New Jersey, Pinkett said.
"The Foundation’s Board and staff wish to thank Chris Daggett for his eight years of leadership and his guidance through our strategic planning process," Pinkett said. "During his tenure, Dodge continued to build on its strong reputation of support for nonprofit organizations in Arts, Education, Environment, Informed Communities and Poetry. We greatly appreciate his service to the Foundation and to the state."
