For those of you who have younger children, here’s a fun way to spend a Saturday and support the arts in New Jersey: Sesame Street favorites Elmo and his friend Gordon are coming to Montclair on Saturday, November 15th (1 day only) for a performance to benefit Luna Stage.
The event, at the Montclair High School Auditorium (141 Park Street, Montclair, NJ) features Roscoe Orman, who is best known for his long-running portrayal of Gordon Robinson of PBS’ Sesame Street. A veteran actor with a long list of credits in theatre, film and television, he appeared to rave reviews in his one man show, The Confessions of Stepin Fetchit, as part of Luna Stage’s 2005-2006 season.
Kevin Clash is the puppeteer and voice of Sesame Street’s most lovable furry red monster Elmo, whom he created after joining the cast in 1985. With his sweet persona, Elmo quickly became and remains one of the most popular muppets on Sesame Street.
Luna Stage, Montclair’s professional theatre company, is now in it’s 16th season. Tickets for the benefit are $35 and are tax-deductible. Reservations can be made here.
