Bethany Cares photo 1WHAT WE DO: As a community development corporation, Bethany Cares, Inc. was created to advance the social, economic ,and physical well-being of individuals living in the vicinity of Bethany Baptist Church, the Newark community at large, and beyond. BCI enhances the church’s outreach capacity by serving families and young people from all walks of life.

WHY WE’RE GREAT: We help enrich the lives of area residents by promoting community and economic development. Bethany Cares Inc. also provides community services, job training and other activities that lead to the improvement of the community infrastructure, and the standards of living and quality of life for Newark area residents.

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP: Your support will help Bethany Cares Inc. continue its mission — the important work of the Bethany Cares Freedom School, which is a summer academic academy. The academy is one of only a few summer literacy camps in Newark. This program has helped hundreds of Newark students avoid the “summer slide” where children may lose ground academically. Financial assistance from considerate individuals and organizations allow us to offer this valuable experience to an increasing number of children.

NEEDS:  In addition to making a contribution through the website, please save the date: On July 13, 2015 Bethany Cares Inc. will host its annual Golf Classic. To learn more, kindly visit our website and consider donating to the event.
