We can’t think of a better way to introduce the new Dodge blog than to start with sustainability. What, exactly, is sustainability, and why does it seem like that word, which has been around for a long time, is suddenly popping up everywhere? Dodge President and CEO David Grant explored this topic with several of our grantees in his essay, “In Pursuit of Sustainability” from our just published 2006-2007 biennial report.
We invite you to read his essay, and we encourage to share your comments here. What is your definition of sustainability? Is it a concept, as Michael Pollan suggests, “in danger of floating away on a sea of inoffensiveness?” Is sustainability a concept you actively use in your own work?
And while you’re at it, tell us what small steps you’ve taken in your own life toward sustainability – help other people see how easy it can be!
